Sunderland Friendly ON

Following the rain on Tyneside a pitch inspection was carried out at 9:30am today and the friendly against a Sunderland XI is confirmed as being ON.

Kick-off will go ahead at 3:00pm this afternoon.

Gateshead fans could see German midfield player Christoph Ascherl and Irish striker Darren Forsyth in the side this afternoon. Both are on trial

Alex Francis and Chris Swailes are, however, unavailable due to injury.
