Job on the Line?

Just one win from the opening games of the season has put Ian Bogie, and his players, under threat by Chairman Graham Wood.

Wood who sacked Bogie's predecessor, Tony Lee, after just five months in charge after he failed to win promotion at the first time of asking.

Wood clearly wants another promotion to feather his cap further and claim to be the man who lead Gateshead to the Football League and isnt prepared to wait for the work to come true.

Bogie knows he must win on Saturday against a good Salisbury side at The International Stadium, or he could face the boot.

Bogie has threatened to sell players if they do not perform, putting added pressure on the inexperienced group of players, still learning their trade at the higher level.

The club failed to bring in the experience needed in the summer, possibly due to the lack of full time football on offer. Only Chris Swailes came in with any great experience, and he has struggled with injuries for two months.

The injury to Martin Brittain has made things worse, and loanee striker Michael Mackay has failed to show his promise, by scoring just once, which came with a defeat at Luton.

Once again the club will be looking for a home win, as they have yet to seal the three points on home turf, the closest they have come is with a 1-1 draw with Tamworth.

Will Bogie get the chop? Or will Graham Wood realise his mistakes in not going full time, which could have attracted several high profile names to the club (who eventually went elsewhere, despite earlier interest) and give Bogie more time?

Time will tell, but the hourglass is running out of sand....
