Heed vs Tamworth Preview

Last updated : 18 August 2009 By Heed Mad
Gateshead face Tamworth tonight in their second home match of the season, going into the game yet to gain a point.

The Tynesiders came close at Luton, and Ian Bogie will be hoping for the same kind of performance tonight.

There is just young striker Steven Baptist unavailable due to injury, and Bogie has hinted at making a few changes to his line-up tonight.

Martin Brittain returns so Jamie Harwood looks set to be dropped, but will he make the subs bench?

Darren Forsyth has also been struggling slightly, so it wouldn't be a surprise if either Steven Richardson or Graeme Armstrong got the nod to partner Michael Mackay instead.

The two changes will probably be enough for Bogie in his shake-up, however several players could well challenge to appear on the bench.

Neale McDermott is fit again and of course there is Harwood and Forsyth. Chris Swailes will also be looking to make his first appearance in a Gateshead shirt, having sat on the bench for the opening two matches.

Last season when Tamworth visited The International Stadium Gateshead trounced them 5-1. Most of that squad are still in the side, and the fans know another results like that one would really kick-start their season.

Predicted Starting XI: Provett, Baxter, Robinson, Curtis, Jones, Brittain, Turnbull, Gate (capt.), Phillips, Richardson, Mackay.

Players available for the bench: Farman (GK), Swailes, Francis, Harwood, Armstrong, Forsyth, McDermott, Pelonde, Cave, Ascherl.
