Gateshead Unveil New Ground

Last updated : 28 October 2009 By Heed Mad
The Stadium will be located on the derelict ground which formerly held the North Durham Cricket and Rugby Club on Prince Concort Road by the Civic Centre in Gateshead.

The site, which was the most popular amongst the rumours which have been going around for three years, has been bought by Chairman Graham Wood and will provide Gateshead with a home of their own.

Gateshead have been renting The International Stadium but have been looking to built their own ground since Wood took over.

The 9,000 capacity stadium will have a 2,000 capacity seated stand with the three remaining stands as covered terracing which can become all seater should the need arise.
